Last updated: August 20, 2026
Introduction
SelfScale is a product of SelfScale Inc ("we," "our," or "us"), a Delaware corporation, and we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our web application and services.
By using SelfScale, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address
- Name (from your Google or LinkedIn profile)
- Profile picture (if provided via OAuth)
Google Account Data
SelfScale uses YouTube API Services. By connecting your YouTube account you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s own handling of your data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
When you connect your Google account, we request access to the following data based on the features you use:
- YouTube: Read access to your channel data and ability to upload videos on your behalf
- Google Drive: Read access to files you explicitly share with the app
We only access data you explicitly authorize and do not access any other files or data in your Google account.
LinkedIn Account Data
When you connect your LinkedIn account, we access:
- Your LinkedIn profile information
- Ability to post content on your behalf (only when you explicitly request it)
Content You Create
We store content you create within the app, including:
- Voice profile data and writing samples
- Generated content drafts and published posts
- Uploaded audio files for transcription
- Saved content from the viral library
Usage Data
We automatically collect certain information about your device and usage, including:
- Browser type and version
- Pages visited and features used
- Time and date of access
- Error logs for troubleshooting
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide and maintain our services
- Generate AI-powered content in your voice
- Publish content to your connected social media accounts
- Analyze and improve our services
- Send you important service updates
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Respond to customer support requests
AI and Content Generation
SelfScale uses artificial intelligence to generate content based on your voice profile. Your data may be processed by third-party AI providers (such as Anthropic and OpenAI) to generate content. These providers process data according to their own privacy policies and do not retain your data for training purposes.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. We use Supabase for database and authentication services, and Vercel for application hosting. Both providers maintain SOC 2 compliance and implement robust security measures.
OAuth tokens for connected services (Google, LinkedIn) are encrypted at rest and are only used to perform actions you explicitly request.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in these circumstances:
- Service Providers: With third-party vendors who assist in providing our services (hosting, payment processing, AI providers)
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
- With Your Consent: When you explicitly authorize sharing
Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Correction: Update or correct inaccurate data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and data
- Disconnect: Revoke a connected account’s access at any time, from that account’s card on the Integrations page
- Export: Export your content and data
To exercise these rights, contact us at support@selfscale.app or use the Integrations page within the application. You can also remove SelfScale’s permission from your Google Account directly at the Google security settings page.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Upon account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or legitimate business purposes.
Data obtained from the YouTube API Services is held to shorter, separate commitments. If you disconnect YouTube or ask us to delete it, we delete that data within 7 calendar days. Independently of that, we keep YouTube data no longer than 30 days without refreshing it from YouTube; anything we do not refresh within 30 days is deleted. Both commitments follow the YouTube API Services Developer Policies.
Deleting the YouTube data SelfScale has stored does not, in any way, affect data stored by YouTube. Videos you have published remain on your YouTube channel. To delete a video on YouTube, use YouTube or YouTube Studio directly.
Cookies and Tracking
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking, and we do not allow third parties to serve advertising in the product.
We do use a small number of third-party services that collect information on your device so the product keeps working and we can see how it is used: Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights (page traffic and performance), PostHog (product usage events, including automatically captured interactions such as clicks), and Sentry (error reporting). None of them serve advertising or build cross-site advertising profiles, and we do not record your screen or session.
Children's Privacy
SelfScale is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete the information immediately.
International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
